So by now we are all pretty much aware that Disney have purchased the rights to the X-Men characters in a pretty big deal, which will no doubt see a number of the X-Men characters beginning to make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the potential for a huge Avengers and X-Men crossover to happen at some point in the future, but there are still a lot of questions which will need answering.
One of the biggest talking points for us, is what exactly is going to happen with the character Quicksilver? As you will all no doubt remember, Aaron Taylor-Johnson played the role of Quicksilver in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the character being killed off in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Meanwhile, actor Evan Peters plays the role of Quicksilver in the X-Men movies and as been one of the best things about those films.
So, now that Disney has the rights to these characters and we are expecting the X-Men to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, what are they going to do about Quicksilver? Well, it has been claimed that, once the plans have been complete for the X-Men to become a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they are actually going to recast all of the X-Men characters, which means no more Evan Peters as Quicksilver, and pretty much no more Quicksilver at all, since the character has already been killed off.
In the meantime though, we are still getting a new X-Men movie, with the upcoming film X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which will see Evan Peters in the role of Quicksilver for the last time. We look forward to seeing how all of these characters are going to come together and just what Disney and Marvel decide to do with the X-Men characters.
