The Philadelphia 76ers, well known basketball team, had high expectations when they entered the 2012 - 2013 NBA season. Andrew Bynum was expected to carry along the team as well as the increasing talent and skill of the younger players. As one of the best players on the team, it was only natural for fans to expect great things from him this season.
Unfortunately, Bynum experienced difficulty with his knee and had to be sidelined for what at first was only expected to be a short time. The player got an Orthokine knee procedure during offseason and is taking a while to recover. It was thought at first that the star player would only be out for a brief time, but his return date continued to be pushed into the future.
Jason Richardson also suffered from a variety of injuries, including one on his knee which required surgery. Jrue Holiday, Thaddeus Young, Nick Young, and Royal Ivey are other players that faced injuries and other difficulties that hampered with their performance on the field.
The 76ers, of course, suffered tremendously because of all these injuries and their gameplay was greatly effected, with only two different players being on the field in every single game throughout the season. It has been a very rough season for the 76ers and hopefully the next will be luckier for them.
