Following the huge rise in the career of British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, the actor has seen himself becoming one of the most sought after stars in Hollywood, with a lot of exciting and interesting roles being sent his way. However, it is in his role as Sherlock Holmes, in the hit British television mini-series Sherlock, that fans have come to love Benedict the most.
Since Benedict Cumberbatch has become such a huge Hollywood star, there have been suggestions that he has become too big and too busy to continue in his role as Sherlock Holmes, much to the disappointment of fans around the world. With that said though, Benedict has now spoken about his future in the role, insisting that he would love to play the character for many more years to come.
Cumberbatch appears in Empire magazine, where he tells the publication, "As long as the ideas are still there and the audience still wants it and as long as Martin [Freeman] and I are not so infirm we can no longer remember the lines and shuffle round the set. I'd love to do it into old age, I really would."
While both Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman have found themselves becoming increasingly more busy, they always seem to manage to find time to return to their roles in Sherlock. We can next see the two stars together in the Sherlock Christmas special, which will then be followed by Sherlock season four next year.
We are big fans of Benedict Cumberbatch and cannot wait to see him back on our screens as Sherlock.
