It really is beginning to feel like Hollywood are running out of original ideas, as they continue to bring us prequels, sequels, remakes, and reboots, and while this is all well and good, we can't help but want something a little bit new and fresh. With that said though, there are some upcoming movies that we are actually looking forward to seeing, such as the new film Alien: Covenant.
There were quite a few raised eyebrows, when it was confirmed that Danny McBride had been cast in a role for Alien: Covenant, as people assumed that he would just be playing some sort of comic relief in the movie. However, Danny has now opened up about his role in the film, admitting that he is very excited to get to play a more serious role on the big screen.
McBride shared, "Jesus. This is f***ing 'Alien'. He's talking to me about 'Alien' right now. Then I got the script and I'm like this s**t is dark! There is no comic relief in this at all. This is a dark horror movie. To be able to step into something like that and to participate in a way that not relying on things I'd done before. That was exciting."
As well as starring Danny McBride, the Alien: Covenant cast also includes Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir and Jussie Smollett, among others. Alien: Covenant is currently shooting in Sydney, Australia and is not due to hit the big screen until August 4, 2017.
