There has been a lot of talk about gender inequality in Hollywood over the years and, while we have seen a slight change in recent years, with more female driven movies and stronger female character in films, it seems that the problem is far from being solved. Actress Dianna Agron has given her views on things, insisting that they are getting worse rather than getting better.

Dianna Agron has been in the acting game for many years
Agron told The Daily Telegraph, "Women are not paid anywhere near the same (as men) at all, and it's only getting worse. And just to be heard - so many times you see it with a female director, there's sometimes resistance from the male crew ... It's not just for actors, it's for hair and make-up and stylists and everything. Nobody wants to pay anybody any more."
While it seems that this is a clear issue within the acting industry, Dianna Agron claims that nothing is being done about it and it is just being shrugged off. Dianna says that there are a number of ridiculous excuses that are made, as to why the women in the industry are not getting paid as much as the men.

Agron added, "Well, we don't have the budget ... And you're lucky you're getting the exposure. You're lucky to be working with these people...' And that ball keeps rolling. So 10 years down the line you're like, 'Am I still lucky to be working with these people?' And yet if you talk about this in depth, you'll see studio heads lash out and say, 'No it's not that way.' But it is."
The debate about gender equality has been raging on for years now but it looks like we are no closer to seeing anything actually being done about it. Stars like Dianna Agron coming out and talking about the problems can surely only be a good thing and we hope to see a difference in the near future.
