How many people actually saw the pilot episode for the planned Wonder Woman television series back in 2011? Those of you who did will understand why the show was shot down and are probably glad that Wonder Woman is now getting a new and fresh approach on the big screen.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress Adrianne Palicki played the role of Wonder Woman in that terrible TV pilot but she has no hard feelings about what happened. In fact, Adrianne has actually taken the time to lend her support to the new, big screen Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot.
During a recent interview, Palicki explained, "I’m very excited for her. I think it’s awesome. It’s an amazing female character, and I just love that so many are becoming such huge successes. The more and more that are out there, the better."
While Adrianne Palicki is clearly a fan of seeing more and more big female characters appearing on both the big screen and the small screen, she did also talk about her brief time in the role of Wonder Woman. Adrianne believes that her Wonder Woman TV series may have been made a couple of years too early and that it would have been much more successful now than it was back then.
Palicki added, "I think it was too early, I think it was right before its time. It was right before that cusp hit of the Marvel universe taking off and all the TV shows. It’s too bad. It was really fun to make. At least I got paid to wear that costume. As opposed to just in my house walking around."
Fans will get to see the new Wonder Woman Gal Gadot appearing in her own standalone movie, when the Wonder Woman film hits the big screen on June 2 in both the US and the UK.
