Supermodel Gigi Hadid is one of the hottest models on the rise in the industry at the moment but it has not exactly come easy for this stunning star, who has had to face more than her fair share of critics along the way. A number of people have criticised Gigi for her curvier figure and the sexy model has admitted that it got so bad that she almost decided to give up on modelling all together.
Hadid was chatting at the Global Lyme Alliance Gala in New York recently, when she explained, "I am human and try not to read it all the time - but it does get to me, I think that when you go through something like that, and you're really almost letting it affect what you think of yourself, it was getting to a place where I was almost like, 'Should I be here?'"
She added, "And I was like, 'This isn't okay.' I shouldn't be questioning doing my job because people are being mean on the Internet. So I just felt like I wasn't scared to have a voice. Some people might think that it was maybe aggressive, but I just think that I was doing it because I want to stand up for myself. I think that I have the right to have a say because we all do on social media."
Fortunately Gigi Hadid found the strength within herself to stand up to her critics and pursue her modelling dream, which has seen the beautiful star becoming one of the most talked about supermodels on the planet. Following her defence of her curvier body, Gigi has found that she has inspired a lot of other women to stand up for themselves and their body type. Good work Gigi, keep it up.
