Halle Berry is now known as one of the most talented and attractive actresses in the world but there was a time when she was not at the 'top' of the acting mountain. In the late 90's she was viewed as a beautiful ex-model who had made a successful transition to acting but was not known as an international star. However, some will argue that much of that changed after her appearance at the 2000 Golden Globes.
At the prestigious award event the actress walked the red carpet in a red and white Valentino gown that earned her fashion praise worldwide. She won the Golden Globe at the 2000 event for her performance in "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge" which earned her the Best Actress Award but many will argue that the moment she stepped onto the red carpet looking so elegant and fabulous in the Valentino designed gown that she had already won the red carpet 'fashion walk' competition.
Soon after her appearance her film schedule became extremely busy and in the next couple of years she filmed "Monster's Ball" for which she received an Academy Award, "Die Another Day", the extremely popular James Bond movie, she filmed the first of several X-Men movies in which she has played a feature role and she starred opposite Hugh Jackman and John Travolta in the movie "Swordfish".
It may be coincidence but her career received a significant boost after her appearance at the 2000 Golden Globes at which she won the Best Actress Award and just as importantly, made an appearance that was worthy and illustrative of a leading lady. A question that is now being discussed in social media chat rooms is which actress will make a Halle Berry type appearance at the 2015 Golden Globes because fifteen years later her wearing of the Valentino gown on the red carpet is still remembered fondly.
