There were quite a few raised eyebrows last year, when it was announced that Lewis Hamilton had decided to leave McLaren and join Mercedes for the 2013 season. However, with the positive start that Mercedes have had, compared to the poor start from McLaren, it seems like it was the right move.
Lewis has been talking about his start for the Mercedes team, admitting that there could have been some things done better but he feels that they are making good improvements and believes that they can compete for race wins in the coming races.
Hamilton explained, "I do really feel positive about the car, I feel positive about the team and they are moving very fast in terms of developing the car and learning how I like to work, and I'm learning very quickly how they like to work."
He added, "Of course, we could have done things better, so you can't really prepare perfectly no matter how much you prepare for it. It's not until you do a race that you understand how to work."
The next race on the Formula One calendar is the Chinese Grand Prix, which will see qualifying take place on Saturday, April 13 and the race on Sunday, April 14.
