What do the bands “Radiohead” and “Atoms For Peace” have in common? It could be the fact Nigel Godrich and Thom Yorke are heavily involved with both groups. As many fans may realize these two individuals are largely responsible for the earlier success of Radiohead. Yorke and Godrich may now amp up the volume and fan popularity for the experimental electronic rock music of Atoms for Peace.
Yorke honed his vocal skills as the frontman for Radiohead; and Godrich has played the keyboard and produced much of the band's music. According to Colin Greenwood (bass guitar player with Radiohead) the group members are just taking a little time out to work on personal projects, but he fully expects that the band will reunite this fall to begin working on a new Radiohead album.
This could be a little tricky to arrange since Atoms for Peace has a major Japanese tour taking place this month. Atoms for Peace debuted their album, "Amok" in February, 2013 and fans were immediately impressed with the new twist on music that Yorke and Godrich have been instrumental in creating.
With their songs still receiving a lot of attention the band does not have to worry about being forgotten. Numerous Radiohead tunes are being played on the airwaves. In addition to radio audiences these songs are generating renewed public interest due to the fact that many of the band’s early hits are now being covered by participants on X-Factor, The Voice and other reality talent shows.
