In the entertainment industry, you regularly get people who jump better different areas, with musicians taking up acting, actors taking up modelling and everything in between. However, while model Stephanie Seymour has done some acting in her time, she says that she wishes less actors did modelling, as it is unfair on the full time models.
Seymour explained, "Believe me, I love film and I love acting and I respect it enormously—I just feel sad for that part of our business. What are the girls left with? They do all the grunt work. They do all the shows and the fittings and all of the really tough, grueling work, but most of them don’t get to reap the same benefits [as actors]."
She added, "There is also not as much money in it for a decent amount of girls, and the consequence of that is that it’s going to shorten the careers of models, and there are going to be a lot more one-hit wonders."
It has been over 10 years since Stephanie Seymour was last seen on our television screens, as she decided to concentrate on her modelling career. With the amount of models that are moving into acting these days, it does seem a bit hypocritical to suggest that actors should not do modelling.
