For some reason or another, somebody in Hollywood still seems to think that it is a good idea to keep adapting video games into movies, despite the fact that pretty much every video game adaptation has been a complete flop. With that said, there are still plenty of video games being adapted for the big screen over the course of the next few years, including the much talked about Uncharted movie.
At one point, it was suggested that we were going to see Hollywood superstar Mark Wahlberg taking on the lead role of treasure hunter Drake, while David O. Russell was believed to be on board to direct the project. However, that was a very long time ago now, and it seems that Uncharted is now set to move in a different direction, deciding to go with a younger actor to take on the lead role.
British actor Tom Holland has been working in the acting industry since he was just a young boy and he has now seen his acting career reaching huge heights. As well as playing Peter Parker in the new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Spider-Man: Homecoming, it has now been confirmed that the talented actor is also going to take on the role of Drake in the new Uncharted movie.
While Tom Holland has been cast in the lead role of Drake in the new Uncharted film, it has also been confirmed that Shawn Levy is on board to direct the project. Joe Carnahan is believed to still be working on the latest draft of the script for the Uncharted movie, while there is no official word of when we can expect the film to begin shooting, or when to expect a release, but we will keep you posted.
