Corbin Bleu, a past Disney sensation from the years of High School Musical, seemed to disappear for a few years when the hype of his past movies died down. But Corbin Bleu is back and kicking, or should I say "dancing," as he competes in the hit reality television show, Dancing with the Stars. Obviously picking up some serious dance skills from his years working on the High School Musical movies, Bleu is a fan favorite on the reality show. As week 8 of the show came to a close, Corbin and his partner Karina wowed judges and fans with a cha cha in the dance off, giving them three wins for the night. With just 4 more weeks to go, it looks like Bleu has a good chance of winning this season.
Bleu hasn't just been competing in the show. He has also been working on a thriller horror film, The Monkey's Paw, which released on October 8th for on demand watching, and is available for viewing in select theaters. Corbin plays the role of "Catfish." While the movie hasn't gotten many reviews, the general opinion of the movie is fairly negative with only 4 stars out of 10.
Corbin has also been working on an anti-bullying campaign, and participated in the making of a short movie promoting a movie called "The Day I Died," which was posted on the online fundraising site, Indiegogo. The video focuses on the epidemic that is bullying in highschool and the influence it has on kids. The video encourages the viewer to donate as much money as they can toward funding "The Day I Died," so as to spread awareness of bullying. Once money is raised, the film will be shot, and Bleu will be starring as a drama teacher.
While Corbin Bleu has only taken on a few roles in the past few years, he seems to be focused on what is important to him. While many of his costars from his past movies have seized every role that they are offered in an effort to keep their fame, Bleu seems to be genuinely enjoying himself.
