When it was announced that we were going to be given a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action movie reboot, fans around the world rejoiced and could not wait to see what they could do with these characters with the technology available today. In 2014 the new movie was finally released and went on to gross almost $500m worldwide, which led to a sequel being made but, unfortunately the sequel was not so successful, only managing to bring in around $230m.
It was said that, should Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows prove successful then a third instalment would be a given, so it has been uncertain whether we actually will get Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3. Actress Megan Fox has actually been pretty decent in the role of April O'Neil for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies and would be sure to return if they did decide to make a third instalment of the franchise.
Meanwhile, actor Stephen Amell, who took on the role of Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, previously admitted that, should they decide to make Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, then he would be obliged to reprise his role for the film.
While Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows was not so much of a financial success as the first film, most people agree that it was actually a better movie and that most people stayed away due to how disappointed they were with the first. With that in mind, there could still be a place for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, should they be able to find a way to get the fans back.
Unfortunately though, while we would love to see Megan Fox back as April O'Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, it does seem like the most likely way that we are going to see these characters back on the big screen would be in another new reboot of the franchise. Bad times!
