This year, Ximena Navarrete’s agenda was saturated with a different kind of work. Just three years ago, she won Miss Universe; therefore, during her reign, she was called the most beautiful woman in the world. Nowadays, she is an established actress and a spokesperson for L’Oreal.
In mid-2013, she surprised the Mexican audience with her protagonist role in “La Tempestad” (The Storm): a Mexican soap opera that was shown on Televisa’s prime-time slot. It has been broadcasted in 22 other countries—including the United States. The Storm wasn’t a huge hit but it certainly opened doors for Ximena in the acting world, and now the media is referring to her as the actress and not the model.
In almost every Mexican channel, commercials of L’Oreal with Miss Navarrete, in them, can be seen on a daily basis. The commercials are also shown in some Latin American countries and some Spanish speaking USA channels.
In a recent interview, she stated that she would like to be the first ambassador for AID for AIDS, in Mexico: an organization that helps people with AIDS pay for their household expenses. She is currently in talks with the organization and hopefully, we will see her doing great things in 2014 for those in need, which will surely motivate others to mentally evolve and do the same.
